Choose Your Companions Wisely

To be brutally honest, not everyone makes a good friend. There are some people who may actually be a detrimental influence in our lives. Scripture warns us about choosing good companions. Solomon said, “Whoever walks with the wise will become wise; whoever walks with fools will suffer harm” (Proverbs 13:20).

When it comes to the people we hang out with, we need to choose wisely, since the Bible says we will become just like the ones we walk with in life. Paul warned the early Christians of this very danger when he said, “Don’t be fooled … ‘bad company corrupts good character’” (1 Corinthians 15:33). Unfortunately, it’s human nature for the bad to bring down the good. Sometimes the good can bring up the bad, but those instances are rare. Don’t be fooled!
